Nena Martin, IIDA, NCIDQ - Global Practice Area Co-Leader Workplace - Technology, Director of Workplace
Nena Martin brings more than 25 years of interior architecture and design experience to her role as Firmwide Technology Leader and Gensler Austin’s Director of Workplace. As a senior interior designer with a passion for people and design, Nena’s leadership skills and genial personality allow her to build and maintain strong client relationships in Austin and across the country. Highly skilled in commercial architectural interiors of all types, her breadth of experience in the technology industry spans clients including Apple, Google, Facebook, Dell, and many more.
Nena has successfully led large corporations in the process of creating new headquarters and corporate campuses by managing complex teams and identifying key drivers that impact the landscape of each organization’s business strategy, design philosophy, and future innovations. She has interviewed with several business and commercial real estate publications, including the Austin Business Journal, CoStar News, and Fast Company. She has also participated as a panelist and speaker at many industry events for Austin Design Week, Bisnow, LinkedIn, and the University of Texas at Austin Bernard O. Dow leasing institute.
Nena is a registered interior designer, a member of IIDA, and holds a bachelor of arts in interior design from Savannah College of Art and Design.
Ken Wiesehuegel, LEED AP, LEED AP ID+C, NCARB, RA, RID - Regional Practice Area Leader - Workplace, Professional Services
Ken Wiesehuegel brings to Gensler his skills of communicating with clients, consultants and contractors of all sizes, types and backgrounds, in both the private sector and with government agencies. His specialization is working with law firms, an expertise he developed working on over 4 million square feet of law firm space and over 6 million square feet of professional service firm projects in total. He is capable of taking projects from programming, through space planning, design development, cost estimating, facility planning, finish selection, construction, construction administration and project close-out. Ken is expert at following through with an acute eye for details, and is able to manage numerous projects and staff members simultaneously. He also possesses a keen ability to analyze problems and solve them quickly with minimal budget, design and functional consequences.
