About our speaker: Callie Taylor is the Vice President of Economic Development for Opportunity Austin, which represents the five county Central Texas region. Home to over 2.2 million residents, the Austin metro is one of the fastest growing and most economically diverse regions in the nation. Ranking at the top of almost every "best places" list, the region's progressive culture, low cost of living, and access to a highly skilled and talented workforce has positioned the region for even greater success.
Callie's responsibilities include promoting the Austin region as the premier destination for companies considering a relocation or expansion while guiding them through the site selection process.
Callie is very integrated with local businesses and serves on the Board of Directors for Pecan Street, Foreign Trade Zone 183 and CleanTX.
Before joining Opportunity Austin, she was the Director of Customer Retention at NRG Energy’s home solar division which is where she developed her passion for renewable energy. Her background includes 10 years of consulting, marketing, training, sales and account management experience.
Callie received her bachelor’s degree in international studies, economic and foreign diplomacy with a minor in Spanish from Texas A&M University in College Station.
